MAC Make Up Brushes – What Makes Them So Different Anyway?

So just what is it about make up brushes that can make one brand of brush, such as MAC Make up brushes, so different from one another. After all, a brush-is-a-brush-is-a-brush or is it? Well read on and maybe by the time your to the bottom of this page, perhaps you'll look at all makeup brushes a little bit differently than you have in the past.

For instance, while a couple MAC make up brushes do contain some animal hair, for the most part, the vast majority of their brushes are made from synthetic fibers. Hey! Aren't natural animal fibers better? The simple answer is in some cases yes but in most cases no. You see, MAC acrylic brushes all use special fibers that function as long slim sponges. They hold onto more makeup and distribute it much more evenly.

Todays High Tech Specialty Synthetic Fibers are Superior

Synthetic acrylic fibers also don't shed or deteriorate. They clean up much better and easier and are far less inclined to play host to harmful bacteria. MAC quality brushes also easily last up to and sometimes over a decade. The difference in quality with MAC make up brushes doesn't end there either. Thats because after all, a brush does also have a handle. So what about these handles? What makes them so different from other brands of brushes?

#224 - The MAC Special Edition Brush

All MAC brush handles are composed of one of three types of hardwood that MAC experts have selected as being best for each particular brush. These specialized woods are ramin, birch and linden however, there is one exception. That brush would be their #224, which is their monogrammed special edition brush. It's handle comes in a gold finish and that also includes its own MAC charm that dangles on the end of tiny chain on the end of it.

All MAC Make Up Brushes are Numbered

You see all MAC make up brushes are identified by their own unique three digit number. As an example, their #204 is a mascara brush and their face brushes #187 & #188 are the only two MAC brushes that contain animal hair. It's goat hair and no goats were harmed to harvest it. They just got their hair clipped, which they like anyway in the hot summer months. Also while some MAC make up brush kits are available, most people prefer to purchase theirs individually.
