A Newbie’s Review of Her First MAC Eyeshadow

I was never really one who cared much for eyeshadows, let alone know which brand to pick.  However, I was pretty familiar with the good ones because most of my girl friends often talk about makeup in my presence.  One day, feeling a little adventurous, I decided to get my first palette and chose MAC.

It was an easy pick. MAC has such a huge following from their lipstick to their eyeshadow.  I thought if I was going to go for an eye makeup, it might as well be a popular brand with really good reviews and MAC eyeshadow definitely fit the bill. It was exactly as the reviews say: The colors were vibrant and it lasted a really long time. Throughout the entire day I didn’t need to retouch and I wasn’t even using a primer!

I also love how MAC eyeshadows are really affordable—for a high-end quality brand. It’s the top choice of makeup artists I hear and so, yes, plenty of celebrities have been seen wearing them.  Not that that matters to me, all I really care about is the quality and that the finish wouldn’t look cakey.  Makeup has to look natural as far as I’m concerned and, again, MAC definitely didn’t disappoint.

The great thing about getting a MAC eyeshadow palette is that you can customize it.  I got to pick the colors I love (shades of nude and pink) and have them be placed on their very snug Pro Palette case of 4.  There’s also a palette case of 15 for those who like to keep a broad variety of colors and, believe me, there are a lot of colors you can choose from.  MAC is known for its really wide array of color choices and not just for eyeshadow but for their lipsticks as well.  However, it will cost you a little extra if you choose to customize rather than buy a palette that’s on their menu.  The good news is the available palettes are really good too, it just so happened that I’m really particular about natural shades being really natural on me.

There’s one more perk that I love about MAC eyeshadow and that’s that you can easily replace an empty color pan with a new one.  You can actually buy a single refill pan and just slip it in your palette case.  Absolutely convenient! I’m sure I’m not the first one who’s gushed about MAC eyeshadow and I really recommend finding out for yourself what all the “gushing” and buzz are about.
